WELDICTION-TR KICK OFF MEETING ANKARA

Kick off meeting was conducted in Turkey on 24-25 January 2008. For this meeting participants shown below were attended: Prof. Dr. Mehmet Turker (G.U.), Prof. Dr. Adem Kurt (G.U.), Asist. Prof. Dr. Hakan Ateş (G.U.), Asist. Prof. Dr. Behçet Gülenç (G.U.), Asist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Durgutlu (G.U.), Research Assistant Tayfun Fındık (WTS), Research Assistant Ugur Arabacı (G.U.), Research Assistant Hanefi Çinici (G.U.), Mustafa Pıtlak (Bugra Welding); Heliana Bibas Gaspar (EWF); Dr. Luca Costa (IIS); Romanya’dan Prof. Dr. Liviu Brandusan, Prof. Dr. George Arghir, Gabriel Batin (UCN), Tuncay Özer (EBA).

For the first day of meeting (24.01.2008), after the opening ceremony, Dr. Hakan Ates, who is the Project Manager, introduce the participants to each other and gave a talk and thank to all participants for their effort. During his speech he explained the duties of the each participant.

During welcoming ceremony, the Dean of Technical Education Faculty, Prof Dr. Abdullah SÖNMEZ, expressed the importance of those kinds of Projects for their faculty. He also expressed his respect to the partners from Portugal, Germany, Italy, Romanian and Turkish due to their great efforts.

After that Heliana G. BIBAS from European Welding Federation gave a talk on “Welding Multi Media Software” which is the project to be transferred. She introduced the aim and the outcomes of the project step by step. She also explained the usage of product and answered the questions related to project to be transferred.

Dr. Hakan ATEŞ talked about the new project. He explained the details of preparation, proposal and acceptance stages of the “Transfer of Welding Multimedia Software” project. From the question asked, it was clear that all partners had red the project, suggested budget and console budget and annex of the project, agreement form and also administrative and budget booklet carefully.

Dr. Hakan ATEŞ also gave detail about the Weldiction-TR project mainly: how it works, how results come out, in which period we would get the results. The questions of participant increased the efficiency of the meeting. In this meeting a problem related to software was arisen and EBA was asked to solve the problem. It was agreed that EBA will prepare a report about which program will used and they will deliver to the participants before Lisboan meeting. The program to be used will be decided in Lisboan meeting.

Dr. Luca Costa was attendant the meeting from Italian Welding Institution. He first introduced the Italian welding institute and then stated how project was important for the institute. Then he explained the opinion of their institution about the project. Finally he finished his talk with “how will be their contribution to the Weldiction- Tr project”.

Dr. Liviu Brandusan and Prof. Dr. George Arghir attended the meeting from Romanian Culuj-Napaca Technical University. They first introduce Culuj-Napaca Technical University and then explained the opinion of their university about the Weldiction- Tr project. Finally they finished their talk how will be their contribution to the project. They mentioned that this project would contribute the literature on welding. They also expressed that these kinds of project would increase relationship of companies.

During lunch time participants sow each other and discussed about the Project. After lunch participants were taken to the Atatürk Museum. At the dinner participants had a chance to know Turkey and Turkish people closely.
